Instructions

Carefully weigh out all ingredients and prepare them before you start.

Place a small pot with a layer of water on the stove. Heat the Shea Butter together with the Mango Butter from phase A above it until they are completely melted.

Add the Jojoba Oil from phase B to the butter mixture and stir well.

Let the mixture cool to below 40°C. To speed up cooling, you can place the mixture in the freezer for 10 minutes at a time. Check the temperature in between.

Add the Vitamin E Oil and Rose Geranium Essential Oil from phase C below 40 degrees and stir well.

Place the mixture in the freezer and check every 15 minutes. You want to see a butter-like substance comparable to Shea Butter.

Mix the butter with a whisk until fluffy. Is the mixture getting too soft? Put it back in the freezer for 10 minutes and whip it again. Repeat this process until you reach the desired consistency. It should feel like a firm butter cream.

Divide the mixture into 3 bowls. Add from phase D a small pinch of Blue Mica Powder to bowl 1, Red Mica Powder to bowl 2, and a few drops of Rosehip Oil to bowl 3. Stir until the desired pastel color is reached.

Lay a piece of foil on your work surface and secure it with two books or small plates so it doesn't move. Insert the fluted piping tip into the piping bag and cut off the end.

Start by creating a strip of blue body butter on the foil. This strip should be 20 cm long and 2 cm wide. You create a strip by applying small mounds with a palette knife. Spread the pink body butter against it. Spread the yellow against the pink. You now have a pastel-colored flag of body butter in front of you.

Roll the foil so the yellow body butter touches the blue. Roll it up like a sausage and twist the ends like a piece of candy wrapper.

Place the rolled sausage in the piping bag and wrap the piping bag around it. Squeeze the piping bag until a little body butter comes out.

Pipe the body butter into a mason jar. You can pipe it as one long swirl. Or you can pipe lots of small rosettes into the jar to create multiple swirls side by side. We decorated our body butter with rose petals and bioglitter. With festival season in full swing, a bit of glitter is never out of place, right?

Your body butter is ready! Keep it for yourself or give it as a gift to someone who could use some Unicorn love.

Store the body butter in a cool dark place or in your fridge. You can keep it for a year.
