What is Full Spectrum Vitamin E Oil?
This Full Spectrum Vitamin E Oil is an exceptionally rich antioxidant oil that contains all eight natural forms of vitamin E: four tocopherols (alpha, beta, gamma, delta) and four tocotrienols (alpha, beta, gamma, delta). The oil is red-orange in color and syrupy in texture, and in addition to vitamin E also naturally contains phytosterols, squalene and carotenoids, each contributing to the skin care benefits.
Most vitamin E products on the market contain only alpha-tocopherol, the most well-known form. Tocotrienols, on the other hand, are a rarer group of antioxidants that research shows have an even broader antioxidant effect than tocopherols alone. This Full Spectrum version gives you the complete vitamin E profile.
What is the difference with our 70% Tocopherol version?
We have two Vitamin E oils in our range.
This Full Spectrum version contains all eight natural forms of vitamin E. Ideal for those who want to get the maximum from an antioxidant, for example in a serum or intensive facial care. The vitamin E is derived from palm oil. For those who want to avoid palm oil, the 70% Tocopherol version is the better choice.
The Vitamin E Oil 70% Tocopherol contains only alpha-tocopherol, extracted from sunflower oil. A fine choice for general DIY cosmetics as an antioxidant and for daily skin care, and readily available in larger packages.
What's in it?
Vitamin E (all eight forms), palm oil, phytosterols, squalene and carotenoids. The vitamin E is derived from palm oil, a natural source that is exceptionally rich in tocotrienols.
Benefits of Full Spectrum Vitamin E
Complete antioxidant profile
Four tocopherols plus four tocotrienols provide a broader antioxidant effect than vitamin E products that contain only alpha-tocopherol. Helps protect the skin against free radicals and slow the aging process.
Stimulates new skin cells
Vitamin E stimulates the production of collagen and new skin cells, which benefits skin structure and radiance.
Protects in the sun
Vitamin E helps protect the skin against UVA damage and is therefore a valuable addition to sunscreens, especially in combination with vitamin C.
Soothes dry skin
The rich, nourishing oil helps calm dry skin. Also nice on cuticles and lips to prevent dehydration and hangnails.
Soothes scars and stretch marks
Vitamin E has long been used to soften scars and stretch marks and help them fade.
For dry hair
Mixing a few drops through a hair mask gives dry, brittle hair a boost.
How to use Full Spectrum Vitamin E?
In your DIY products as an antioxidant
Add 0.5 percent to your total product. For 100 grams of oil or cream, that's 0.5 grams of Full Spectrum Vitamin E. A small bottle will therefore last a long time.
As a leave-on serum
Mix a few drops with a Carrier Oil of your choice and apply to your face before sleeping. Due to the orange-red color, an old pillowcase is advisable.
On dry spots
Apply a drop to cuticles, lips or dry spots for extra care.
In a hair mask
Add a few drops to a regular hair oil or hair mask for dry, brittle hair.
Tips when using Full Spectrum Vitamin E
- Store in a cool, dark place. Always close the bottle tightly after use.
- Test first on a small piece of skin before using the oil for the first time.
- The oil is red-orange in color due to the natural carotenoids. Always combine with a Carrier Oil to limit color transfer to skin and fabric.
- The texture is thick and syrupy. For easier processing, first mix with a lighter Carrier Oil.
Points of attention
Full Spectrum Vitamin E Oil is intended for external use on the skin. When in doubt or with sensitive skin, first test on a small spot and wait 24 hours. Keep out of reach of children. When using on fresh wounds or after surgery, consult your doctor first.
