Description

What is Dried Calendula?

This Dried Calendula is full of valuable ingredients for the skin and can be used as a colorant for your DIY skincare products.

Calendula (Calendula Officinalis), also known as marigold, is a cheerful little flower known for its bright orange color. Calendula has been used in skincare for centuries.

Benefits

A cheerful color

Calendula petals have a beautiful orange color that you can use as a colorant for your DIY skincare products. Let the petals soak in an oil and you'll see the oil take on calendula's cheerful color. Or add the petals whole to a soap bar or body scrub for a natural, cheerful look to your product.

Cleanses the skin

Calendula is a wonderful addition to your cleansing routine. Process the Calendula into an oil or facial cleanser for best results, or make a compress.

Restores dry and irritated skin

Calendula has hydrating and nourishing properties that make the petals wonderful for dry skin. Calendula salve is therefore often made, specifically for applying to irritated areas.

Inspires and lets you shine

Calendula flowers are bright orange and sometimes yellow, which immediately lifts your mood. Energetically speaking, that's exactly what these petals do for you: they bring comfort and let you shine again.

How do you use it?

Colorant

Use the dried petals as a colorant for your DIY creation or as a replacement for the more costly saffron.

Make a salve

Calendula salve is a versatile product that's easy to make. Use it on irritated areas, or to care for dry, sensitive or red skin.

Make a compress for blemish-prone skin

Do you have blemish-prone skin? Then make a compress by steeping 2 tablespoons of Dried Calendula for 15 minutes (covered) in a cup of boiling water. Dip a clean cloth into it and gently apply to your face (allow to cool a bit more if needed, so it's not too hot).

In the bath

Add a handful of the Dried Calendula in a tea infuser and add to a warm bath.

What makes it so special?

Calendula is rich in vitamins and minerals and contains 16 different types of essential oils. With all these beneficial ingredients, Calendula helps restore dry and irritated skin and purify oily skin.
