What is Lemon Peel Powder?

Lemon Peel Powder is finely ground, dried peel from Citrus limon. Just the peel, nothing else. The peel is dried and ground into a fine powder that you can easily mix through scrubs, masks, soap and bath salt.

The scent is fresh and sunny, think of freshly grated lemon zest: bright, slightly sweet and a bit bitter. A small amount is enough to make an entire batch smell delicious.

On the skin, the powder works as a mild exfoliant through the fruit acids in the peel. The skin feels smoother and looks fresher. Preferably use it in rinse-off products and wear sun protection during the day, as fruit acids make the skin more sensitive to the sun.

How do you use Lemon Peel Powder?

Face mask and cleanser: Use 0.5-1% in a clay mask or cleanser. Always rinse off, 1-2 times per week.

Body scrub: Add 1-5% to a scrub with oil, sugar or salt. Massage briefly and rinse off.

Bath salt and foot bath: Mix 0.5-2% through dry bath salt or a foot bath mix. Shake well for even color and scent.

Bath bombs: Add 1-3% to the dry mixture. The powder provides color and scent without additional fragrance.

Soap: Use 0.5-2%. In melt & pour add when the base has cooled slightly, in cold process at trace.

Creams and lotions: Add 0.2-0.5% in the cool phase below 40°C. Keep the dosage low in leave-on products and always do a patch test.

Note: fruit acids make the skin more sun-sensitive. Preferably use Lemon Peel Powder in rinse-off products and apply sun protection during the day.

What makes Lemon Peel Powder so special?

Most lemon aroma is in the peel, not in the juice. A teaspoon of powder is enough to make an entire batch of bath salt smell fresh and color it light yellow, without perfume and without colorants.
