Cajeput - powerful in calming

Cajeput oil is extracted from the leaves and twigs of the cajeput tree, a plant species that mainly occurs in Southeast Asia and northern Australia. The oil has been known for centuries for its healing effects on muscle pain among others, making cajeput perfect for use in sports massage oil. Cajeput oil also provides relief for joint and nerve pain. This is due to the mildly numbing effect of the oil.

Thanks to the lovely eucalyptus-like scent, cajeput calms both a painful body and a tense mind. Additionally, the oil, like many essential oils, has a purifying effect on the skin and can be used for oily skin, pimples and imperfections. The oil gives a strong sense of inner purity. Cajeput is perfect to combine with lavender, bergamot and rosemary essential oils among others.

Use

When using essential oil on your skin always dilute in a carrier oil or butter, such as almond or jojoba oil, and use no more than 1 - 2% (1 - 2ml essential oil per 100ml carrier oil).

Apply the oil where needed on cleansed skin. For use on oily scalp and hair (or just because it smells wonderful) you can also add a few drops of cajeput essential oil to your shampoo.

To inhale the essential oil or when using as air freshening, use it in an oil burner/diffuser or scent block. To use the essential oil in the bath (and that's very nice) mix a few drops of cajeput oil with a neutral bath gel or bath oil.
