Description
What is Cacay Oil?
Cacay Oil is a nourishing and protective super oil that makes your skin glow and your hair shine. This wonderful oil feels light, absorbs quickly and is a luxurious addition to your beauty routine.
Cacay Oil is cold-pressed from orinoko nuts (caryodendron orinocense), which grow on the Taccy Nut Tree found in the Amazon, South America. The nuts are sold in many local markets in South America and contribute to the economy, which fortunately means the Taccy Nut Trees are rarely cut down. Cacay Oil is also known as Kahai Oil and has a light nutty scent.
Benefits
Nourishes and protects the skin
Cacay Oil is rich in vitamin E, a substance that is important for the production of elastin in the skin. Elastin keeps the skin firm and flexible and reduces the chance of premature signs of skin aging. Moreover, vitamin E is an antioxidant, so Cacay Oil helps protect the skin against harmful external influences.
Hydrates the skin
Cacay Oil is a semi-drying oil, which means the oil quickly penetrates deep into the skin and provides deep, long-lasting hydration. That's what really makes your skin glow!
Promotes the skin's self-healing ability
Cacay Oil contains up to three times as much Pro-Vitamin A as Rosehip Oil. Pro-Vitamin A promotes the skin's self-healing ability and can therefore contribute to scar reduction and preventing scars caused by pimples.
Reduces oily skin
If you suffer from pimples easily, Cacay Oil can offer a solution. The oil consists of about 68% linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid that doesn't clog pores, but does nourish. By providing the skin with a hydrating, nourishing oil, the skin's sebum production will decrease and your skin will naturally become less oily. Goodbye clogged pores and pimples!
Cares for hair and reduces hair loss
The high content of linoleic acid in Cacay Oil also contributes to healthy and shiny hair. Especially dry and damaged hair can completely recover by regularly applying a Cacay Oil mask. The oil can also help reduce hair loss.
How do you use it?
Cacay Oil is a fine oil to use as a base oil in combination with Essential Oils. Process the oil into a DIY care product or apply directly to skin and hair. At cold temperatures, Cacay Oil may solidify or become syrupy, but this can be solved by bringing the oil back to room temperature. Never heat the oil above 30 degrees Celsius, as the beneficial substances in the oil will quickly be lost.
Cacay Oil Hair Mask
Massage the oil into towel-dry hair, from the scalp and hair roots to the tips. Wrap a towel around your hair and let it absorb for at least an hour, preferably longer. For very dry hair, you could even leave the oil on all night. Then wash your hair the way you always would, preferably with a natural shampoo.
What makes it so special?
Cacay Oil is a real oil hero and certainly doesn't fall short of oils like Argan Oil, Rosehip Oil and Tamanu Oil. In fact, Cacay Oil contains about 50% more vitamin E than Argan Oil and up to three times as much vitamin A as Rosehip Oil.
