Description
Why is Baobab Oil so good?
Baobab oil is made from the seed of the baobab fruit. These seeds are rich in nourishing fatty acids. The oil consists of approximately 30 to 40% oleic acid (omega 9) and 25 to 35% linoleic acid (omega 6). What makes baobab oil special is its high content of saturated fatty acids such as palmitic acid and stearic acid, together approximately 25 to 35%. This makes this oil remarkably stable and gives the skin a wonderfully nourishing feeling. This exotic oil is used for various skin conditions due to its purifying effect. This oil is therefore very good for dry, itchy or damaged skin, but also works fantastically in the treatment of pregnancy stretch marks (striae) and scars.
This oil also contains exceptionally high amounts of antioxidants that make the skin elastic and help intensely care for dry skin. Moreover, baobab oil hydrates the skin and hair exceptionally well. The skin absorbs this golden-colored oil fairly quickly, which is one reason why this oil is very pleasant to use.

How is Baobab Oil made?
Baobab oil is made from the fruits of the baobab tree, which mainly grows in Africa. The tree is known for its typical thick trunk with a circumference of sometimes up to ten meters. The fruits of the baobab tree are the same size as a coconut. You can also eat these fruits - monkeys are certainly crazy about them!
The seeds come from the baobab fruit and are thoroughly washed by the local population after harvesting. The hard seeds are then cold-pressed. During cold pressing, the temperature does not exceed 30 degrees so that all nutritious substances from the seeds are preserved. During pressing, the oil is literally pressed out of the seeds. It is then filtered and the oil is ready for use. Nothing else is added to the baobab oil.

Does Baobab Oil become cloudy in the cold?
Yes, it can, and that is completely normal. Baobab oil naturally contains a fairly high proportion of saturated fatty acids, especially palmitic acid and stearic acid. At temperatures below 18 to 20 degrees, the oil can therefore become cloudy or grainy. If it gets even colder, flakes can form or the oil can partially solidify.
This is simply part of this oil and has nothing to do with quality. It is how the natural fatty acids behave at lower temperatures. Let the bottle come to room temperature or warm it between your hands, and the oil will naturally become clear and liquid again.
How to use it
You often only need a few drops of baobab oil to give your skin and hair good care. This means you can use a small bottle for a very long time, making it quite economical compared to other oils or creams.
It has a light nutty scent and you can use the oil perfectly as a natural moisturizer. It's best to apply the oil daily to damp skin, for example after showering. This golden-colored oil can also be used for aromatherapy massages.
Want to use it for your hair? Then let the oil absorb into your hair and then wash it out with shampoo.
