What is Velvet Wax?

Velvet Wax is a 100% plant-based wax complex made from jojoba, mimosa and sunflower. The natural waxes are combined with polyglycerin, creating a soft, easy-to-work wax that provides real comfort to the skin.

The scent is subtle: light waxy, soft and almost neutral. The color is warm beige and the texture feels wonderfully creamy as soon as it melts.

Velvet Wax forms a thin, supple layer that locks in moisture, so the skin feels less tight and more at ease.

What are the benefits of Velvet Wax?

Long-lasting comfort

Jojoba esters and sunflower wax form a breathable layer that slows down moisture loss. The skin feels fuller and less tense, and this feeling lasts a long time.

Soft, pillow-like feel

During solidification, the wax complex forms small, round crystals that feel wonderfully smooth. The polyglycerin provides an airy structure, soft and resilient at the same time.

Less sticky and greasy

Velvet Wax softens the sticky or heavy feel of rich oils and butters. Ideal when a formula feels just a bit too heavy.

Extra stable texture

In creams, the wax complex helps keep the emulsion nicely together. The combination of solid waxes and polyglycerin supports the structure.

Add water to balms and sticks

Thanks to polyglycerin 3 (both water and fat-friendly), you can incorporate a small amount of water into an anhydrous balm or lipstick. This opens up entirely new textures. Note: once water is in a formula, preservation is necessary.

Pleasant sun care products

In formulas with many UV filters, Velvet Wax helps distribute the film more evenly. It spreads more smoothly and feels lighter on the skin.

Neutral scent

The light, almost neutral scent doesn't clash with fragrances or essential oils. Great when the rest of your formula should take center stage.

How to use Velvet Wax?

Creams and lotions: Use 1-5% in the oil phase. Allow to melt completely at 70-80°C, then emulsify and cool normally.

Balms and salves: Use 2-5%. Melt with oils and butters at 70-80°C. Optionally add 5-15% water phase drop by drop while stirring well, then cool to creamy.

Lip balm or lipstick: Use 3-5% for a smooth, luxe glide. Melt together with beeswax or plant-based waxes and your chosen oils.

Sun care: Use 2-3% for a more pleasant skin feel and more even film. Add to the oil phase and allow to melt completely.

Tip: Always melt completely and stir well for a homogeneous result, especially with larger quantities.

What makes Velvet Wax so special?

With just 5%, you can distribute up to about 15% water nicely in an anhydrous balm. Hardly any natural wax can do that. You get a buttery, resilient texture that feels rich but spreads smoothly.
