THE TEAM & STORY

When Malou & Nevil met in 2020, it was clear they shared the same mission: to make natural and sustainable living simple and easy for everyone.

Back to 2016, when Nevil was walking around with questions like:"Why are there so few natural and toxin-free skincare products that actually work?", "Which synthetic ingredients should I avoid?"and"Can't I just personalise something myself that I am 100% sure is natural?"

Thus, Natural Heroes was born, with the mission to give people back control over what goes into their skincare products - independent of the multinationals of this world.

In 2020, when the world came to a standstill, the spark ignited between Malou and Nevil, and they decided to walk this path together. Malou had already gained experience in formulating at home and decided to follow a complete course at Formula Botanica. Since then, she has been the face and head product developer of Natural Heroes.

Our story

2016-2020

From kitchen table to family business.

In 2016, Nevil planted the very first seed for Natural Heroes, literally in his parents' kitchen. Very quickly, this became too small and they moved to Utrecht.

Within four years, this family-driven mission—without external investors—grew to a turnover of one million euros. But it didn't stop there.

2020

"Everything is more fun together with you."

This was the year in which Nevil and Malou met each other and everything fell into place through their shared vision of pure, sustainable, and healthy living.

We moved to a larger premises in Utrecht, and with Malou as the face and head of R&D, our mission became stronger than ever.

2021

Rebrand & School Bus

We gave Natural Heroes a fresh, new look and launched our first end product: the All Purpose Balm.

We also bought an American school bus that we converted into a second home on wheels, allowing us to visit our farms in Europe.

2022

YouTube Channel

In this incredibly productive year, we worked almost day and night, launched our YouTube channel, and devised the foundation for our 'lab in a box' DIY Kit.

2023

Milestones & Challenges

This was one of the more challenging years. Growth was somewhat disappointing compared to what we had expected, and that resulted in a poorer outcome.

However, the year ended well due to the birth of our daughter and the involvement of a new business partner in the company.

2024

Growth, growth, growth

The year in which we doubled to 4 million in revenue, launched a successful crowdfunding campaign, brought 20 new end products to market, and welcomed our second daughter, 3 hours before our Black Friday sale went live.

We also made our first trip here with the school bus and visited a few beautiful farms in Portugal and Spain.
